Birmingham is the UK's second-largest city and the centre of the Midlands, a central region within about two hours of most of the country. It suits students who want a large city, a substantial Arab and Muslim community, and lower living costs than London.

Getting around
Direct trains reach London in around 1 hour 20 minutes, and the city is a national rail hub for the rest of the UK. Birmingham Airport is about 15 minutes from the centre by train and offers direct and one-stop routes to the Gulf.
