Undergraduate honours degrees usually run four years rather than three, with a broader first two years before specialisation — which can suit students entering from a Saudi Thanawiyya, since the extra year is built into the standard degree.
Student life
Edinburgh and Glasgow both have large international student populations, historic city centres, and active student unions. Scotland is generally regarded as safe and welcoming, with mosques, prayer rooms, and halal food available in the main cities. Winters are darker and colder than in the south of England, which is worth planning for.
